"Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to a better understanding of ourselves." Carl Jung

Group Therapy is a powerful form of psychotherapy that may help you practice in real-time what you are learning about in individual Counseling. Often group therapy is recommended for people who experience challenges within interpersonal relationships.

Group Therapy is experiential in nature because it provides a "live" environment for you to practice interpersonal skills with others in a safe, supportive and therapeutic space. It is a social exercise and it helps you develop a deeper awareness of your own "issues" and how you interact with others. Through sharing and listening, you and other members gain a greater understanding of yourself in relation to others. Your participation will leave you experiencing greater confidence and self-esteem.

You may experience apprehension about joining a group - but don't worry. Most everyone feels this way at the start. Though your worries feel quite real, once guidelines are established (including confidentiality standards) most find the experience to be reassuring, welcoming and ultimately very personally rewarding.
